09.22.07 - lakefront

i woke up this morning at like 6:30am... and was pumped that I was awake I laid in bed for a while thinking of where I could go catch the sunrise... the lakefront... i got outside and realized it was realllllyyyy cloudy... no sunrise this morning buddy. so what do you do when you can't catch a sunrise and the skys BORRING.

shoot other stuff...

yay for water droplets!

i only had my 10-22mm lens with me so shooting macros with a wide angle is quite interesting.

but kind of cool at the same time... i've never been much of a macro fan but i really enjoyed getting a different prespective this morning.

i looked up macro lenses online and i think i might have to invest...

i'm pretty happy with this mornings shoot... i'm off to go hit up route one... breakfast, thrift store, TRIPOD!

cool shots!

The bonfire pic was my 18-200mm, the others were the 50mm. I didn't get any super good shots of the worship...but I'll put something up :D

so macro lenses are expensive as hell. however you can get close up filters for the 28-105 i have +1 +2 and +4 filters for mine, they work alright, i mean they don't work as well as a real macro lens, but they def get the job done. i'll let you play with mine when you come up if you want.

the efs 60 2.8 is only like $400... it would serve as my prime and macro... you looked into that lens?

60mm is a pretty long prime with the 1.6x crop. uh i'm not sure but i think macro lenses don't work as well with normal pics. chrystopher robinson has that lens. for some reason he said he misses the close up filters with the 28-105.. i dunno why though. the clost up filters work pretty well.

and the whole point in a prime really is for the wide open aperature 2.8 is good for telephotos and other zooms. but on a prime thats pretty weak think about it about 1/100th of a second shutter speed. plus only 2.8 aperature makes it pretty hard to shoot when dark.

i dunno its up to you though

er should i say weak for a 50ish mm prime

cuz i would totally go for the 28mm 2.8

and continuing with tons of comments for you. lol. my camera don't work with EFS lenses. and jon doesn't have any. so yea i don'tk now too much about them except what i saw of chrystopher's

eh i'd suggest getting some close up filters, and the 50 f1.8
you'd spend under 150 and and fun new toys to play with :)

meh... we'll see...

thats not a bad suggestion though it'd save a lot of money.

lol... get out there and shoot now buddy... i'm sure your camera could do that too... don't ever rely on your GEAR to much... i'm really wanting to buy a point and shoot soon so that i can have it at all times... i can't carry around my slr everywhere i go...
